Janus Project was an alternative exhibition space founded by Chris Mansour in collaboration with Margo Wolowiec.
Janus Project invited artists, theorists and writers to contribute to thematic exhibitions. Curated with a historically materialist approach, the exhibitions attempted to illuminate how the history embedded in the work conditioned its contemporary configuration. Previously inhabited as a family dwelling, Janus Project occupied two floors of a large house with living spaces above. The hybrid architectural styles and domestic setting lended layered readings of the work that temporarily coexisted within its walls.
